CURRENT PUBLICATIONS (Ranked by Impact Factor of the Journal)

Novel RBPJ Transcripts Identified in Human Amniotic Fluid Cells
To date, four human RBPJ isoforms have been described in Entrez Gene, varying in the first 5′ coding exons. Using an improved protocol, researchers were able to further identify all four known and five novel RBPJ transcript variants in human amniotic fluid cells. [Stem Cell Rev]
Analysis of the Chondrogenic Potential and Secretome of Mesenchymal Stem Cells Derived from Human Umbilical Cord Stroma
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from umbilical cord stroma were isolated by plastic adherence and characterized by flow cytometry, looking for cells positive for STRO1, OCT3/4 and SSEA-4 as well as the classic MSC-markers CD44, CD73, CD90, Ki67, CD105 and CD106 and negative for CD34 and CD45. [Stem Cells Dev]

Amniotic Mesenchymal Stem Cells Enhance Normal Fetal Wound Healing
Researchers conclude that fetal wound healing encompasses an autologous yet exogenous cellular component in naturally occurring amniotic mesenchymal stem cells. While seemingly not absolutely essential to the healing process, amniotic cells expedite wound closure and enhance its extracellular matrix profile. [Stem Cells Dev]
Differentiated Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells as a Therapeutic Resource
Results suggested that differentiated-human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells were able to recover liver function of damaged mice. [Differentiation]
In Vitro Differentiation of Human Umbilical Vein Mesenchymal Stem Cells into Hepatocyte-Like Cells
Researchers concluded that umbilical cord vein mesenchymal stem cells encompass suitable hepatogenic potential which may provide a source of stem cells for cell therapy in liver diseases. [Differentiation]
TBI and Melphalan Followed by Allogeneic Hematopoietic SCT in Children with Advanced Hematological Malignancies
Researchers evaluated the efficacy and safety of the conditioning regimen that consisted of TBI and melphalan, followed by hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT) in 23 children with advanced hematological malignancies. [Bone Marrow Transplant]

Therapy with Un-Engineered Naive Rat Umbilical Cord Matrix Stem Cells Markedly Inhibits Growth of Murine Lung Adenocarcinoma
Results indicate that rat umbilical cord matrix stem cells alone remarkably attenuate the growth of lung carcinoma cells in vitro and in a mouse syngeneic lung carcinoma graft model and could be used for targeted cytotherapy for lung cancer. [BMC Cancer]
Umbilical Cord Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Grow Best Under GMP-Compliant Culture Conditions and Maintain Their Phenotypic And Functional Properties
Researchers analyzed the phenotypic and functional properties of umbilical cord tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSC) under xeno-free (containing GMP-certified human serum) and serum-free culture conditions in comparison with standard UCMSC cultures. [J Immunol Methods]

Comparison of Corneal Epitheliotrophic Capacity Among Different Human Blood-Derived Preparations
Different human blood derivatives may have different concentrations of epitheliotrophic factors. Cord blood serum is generally superior to peripheral blood serum in promoting corneal epithelial proliferation and differentiation. [Cornea]
