Scientists examined the possibility that CXCL16 recruits endothelial cells to developing neovasculature in rheumatoid arthritis synovium. The Characteristic Expression Pattern of BMI-1 and SALL4 Genes in Placenta Tissue and Cord Blood
SALL4 and BMI-1 are important factors in hematopoiesis. Placental tissue (PT) and umbilical cord blood (CB) are rich in hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, but their SALL4 and BMI-1 expression levels remain unknown. Dopaminergic neuron therapy has been established as a new clinical tool for treating Parkinson's disease. Prior to cell transplantation, there are two primary issues that must be resolved: one is the appropriate seed cell origin, and the other is the efficient inducing technique. Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells were used as the available seed cells, and conditioned medium from human amniotic epithelial cells was used as the inducing reagent. Isolation of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) from the umbilical cord blood (UCB) has a success rate of 25% and is frequently contaminated by osteoclast-like cells.
