The Structural Basis of Functional Improvement in Response to Human Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Transplantation
Researchers investigated the long-term effects of stem cell therapy on both myocardial fiber organization and regional contractile function using a rat model of post-infarct remodeling. Single-Unit Cord Blood Transplantation following G-CSF-Combined Myeloablative Conditioning for Myeloid Malignancies not in Remission
Researchers report on the outcome of unrelated cord blood transplantation using a conditioning regimen of 12 Gy total body irradiation, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-combined high-dose cytarabine, and cyclophosphamide in 61 adult patients with acute myelogenous leukemia or advanced myelodysplastic syndrome not in remission. MYOD Mediates Skeletal Myogenic Differentiation of Human Amniotic Fluid Stem Cells and Regeneration of Muscle Injury
In order to induce myogenic differentiation of human amniotic fluid stem (hAFS) cells, lentiviruses for MYOD were constructed and transduced into hAFS cells. Formation of myotube-like cells was analyzed by immunocytochemistry, and expression of molecular markers for myoblasts was analyzed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting.
